Radeberger PILSNER. Always special.

Radeberger Pilsner from the only brewery in Germany which has brewed pilsener beer without interruption since 1872.

The Company

Since the founding of the brewery in 1872 Radeberger Pilsner has been brewed without interruption. As purveyor to the Royal Court of Saxony and the preferred brew of Prince Otto von Bismarck, Radeberger Pilsner was not only highly praised but also soon drunk all over Germany. From the very beginning, the company's aim was to produce top-quality pilsener beer. For generations, this has been the guiding principle at the brewery in Radeberg. Today, Radeberger Exportbierbrauerei numbers among Germany's most modern breweries. The brewery in Radeberg employs approximately 250 persons on a permanent basis. Success is reflected by the brand trust and the steady rise in sales, which have increased almost fivefold over the past 20 years.

The 125th anniversary of the renaming of the former "Aktienbrauerei zum Bergkeller" to "Radeberger Exportbierbrauerei" falls on 25 April 2010. Since 1885, the brewery's name has stood for the product's excellent quality, a quality which withstood the challenging transportation routes of long ago. The brewery's prospering business in Germany and, as of 1903 in the USA and Canada as well, are significant cornerstones for the brand's sustained success.

The Brand

Radeberger Pilsner is intentionally positioned as a monobrand. The soft water from Radeberger's own wells, the predominant hops flavour, the golden colour and creamy foam give Radeberger its distinct, smooth bitter taste. Radeberger Pilsner has a superior market position among its competitors, targeting the quality-based on-trade industry. It has also developed into a leading brand listing in German hotel chains and hotel corporations. Radeberger Pilsner is firmly established as one of Germany's top ten premium beers.

Brand Activities

Radeberger Pilsner is a dedicated promoter of art and culture all over Germany. Brand presentation of Radeberger Pilsner uses the Dresden Semper Opera House as the key visual in a communication strategy that was only slightly modified in 2007. Inasmuch as Radeberger Pilsner has been at home in Saxony for more than 135 years, activities sponsored in and around Dresden are more varied and numerous.
